Part Of The Kia Family, Now.

Posted on Sunday 11 March 2007

Well, from a previous post you know that while I was in Florida Sue’s car got jacked up by a hit-and-get-out-of-the-car-and-scurry-away driver. Between the insurance money, tax refunds, and a little extra from the body-shop just buying our junked Saturn outright, we were able to make a nifty down payment on this:

It’s a 2007 Kia Sedona Minivan (3/12/07 edit, originally said “SUV”). Three rows of seating, power doors, moon roof, a few other extra features. The two most important features though is that the 2007 Sedona carries the highest rated safety standard of any SUV and enough room/headspace to make it very easy to load Verl plus all of his support environment in quickly and with little fuss.
It’s also nice that as we tend to be “drive the car until the wheels fall off” sort of people, this is a vehicle that will give us plenty of room, either with taking friends up to the mountain or with the possibility of procuring another kid in the future.

Anyhow, we’ve both super psyched to be driving around in it!

P.S. — You have a lovely garage that I heard Grampa Bjornson helped clean out/up?? I hope to heck you are not parking this thing on the street where the maniac drivers and evil trees can crash and drip nasty things on it!!

David – Ya, the car pic is basically a stock photo from the Interweb. I liked though that it looked like Oregon.

Anne – Unfortunately, the garage isn’t positioned very well to get a car, much less a van inside of it. And it would take some concrete work to accomplish everything as well. But for the moment we have the van in the driveway, not on the street!

Grandma Bjornson – I wouldn’t exactly be holding ‘yer breath on Number 2, but it’s good to keep our options open! (smile)

    Wow…
It doesn’t look at all like a “MINI”van to my eyes….
Anyway… happy drivings for you all!
    cheers,
    Priscilla
